Lanna Encounter 05 Days / 04 Nights
ITINERARY :

Morning arrive in Chiang Rai – Chiang Rai the city tour  
Pickup from Chiang Rai Airport. 
In the afternoon explore the culture and heritage of Chiang Rai. Visit the main market area and Wat Phra Kaew Chiang Rai, where the famous Emerald Buddha (now in Bangkok) was found in A.D. 1434. Visit also Wat Doi Thong, with its Navel Pillars, overlooking the Mae Kok River, and King Meng Rai’s Monument with its annual festival in February. Then visit Wat Rong Khun, also called the white temple inside it contains murals and paintings of the Buddha image and painted enamel ceramic floor. The outside is being created with lime sculpture Thai designs decorated with small pieces of mirror that make the building sparkle and shine under the sunlight. Continue to visit Wat Rong Sua Ten or the Blue Temple. This modern temple and unique architecture and fine sculpture arts are worth visiting.

Doi Tung and Golden Triangle 
Breakfast at your hotel, visit the Doi Tung region, 2000 meters/6500 feet above sea-level. The Doi Tung Development Project was established to eradicate the cultivation of opium and encourage farmers to use sustainable agricultural practices. Visit Mae Fah Luang Gardens and Doi Tung Temple. Continue to the Royal Handicraft Center to discover mulberry paper making, pottery, and weaving. Lunch at a local restaurant. 
Afterwards drive to Mae Sai, visit to the market at the Burmese Border (if time and situation allow, cross the border to Tachilek, fee to be paid on spot in supplement). Drive on to the Golden Triangle area, where the borders of Thailand, Burma and Laos meet. Then reach Chiang Saen on the steep banks of Mae Khong River where you will see some magnificent ancient ruins and temples. Wat Pa Sak in Chiang Saen. The name of the temple represents the character of the premise of which three hundred teak trees were planted at its grounds is regarded as one of the most beautiful Lanna-style structures in northern Thailand.

Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai via Mae Kajan-Walking experiences 
Breakfast at your hotel. Drive from Chiang Rai to Chiang Mai via the Mae Kachan Hot Spring there are separate pools where you can soak your feet in the naturally warm water and relax amid the gardens. Arrive Chiang Mai Lunch at local restaurant and explore one of Thailand’s most walk-able cities. 
Starts in the old city area at the Chiang Mai City Arts and Cultural Centre the former Provincial Hall of Chiang Mai and learn the history, tradition, culture, custom and life style of Chiang Mai. Continue to Wat Chedi Luang, where the great chedi which was built at the end of 14th century is located. Nearby is Pun Tao Temple, famous for its teak wooden chapel for lay people to pray-on and was one of the four monastic temples. Then walk along beautiful road to Tapae Gate this eastern main entrance gate is still the main center of Chiang Mai’s public city activities and festivals. Continue to Warorote Market, the biggest local Market in Chiang Mai which sells everything from clothes and textiles to fruits, herbs, flowers, vegetables, insects and even fireworks. Next, walk across the Mae Ping River to visit the area of "Wat Gate". Visit the unique Gate Garaam Temple there are old, solid timber built houses many of which are over 100 years old. End your walking trip with soft drink at the local restaurant which overlooks the view of Mae Ping River. Return to the hotel by songtaew Chiang Mai’s unique local transportation

The local Ruankaew-Yanon family and Sunset at Doi Suthep
Breakfast at your hotel, Drive to the south of the city to visit Wat Ton Kwen or Wat Inthrawat, one of the finest examples of classic Lanna architecture in Northern Thailand. Proceed to hang Dong for an incredible gastronomic experience with the local Ruankaew-Yanon family. You will be welcomed into their home to experience a typical day in the life of a Thai person, in a real Thai neighborhood. You will learn to cook traditional home cooked recipes with authentic Northern Thai flavors that are different from standard dishes offered in commercial cooking classes. Enjoy a delicious home cooked meal which helped create with the whole family. 
Then in the evening visit the 700-year-old Wat Umong during this tour. Wat Umong is located near the base of Doi Suthep Mountain and Wat Umong Suan Phutthatham, which translates to “Temple of the tunnels and Buddha Dhamma garden” known for its tunnels and caves under the temple complex. The temple’s setting in a forested area with a natural lake makes Wat Umong an excellent place for meditation. The visit Wat Phra That Doi Suthep witness the magical evening chanting of the monks. Explore Wat Phra That Doi Suthep while enjoying the cool evening breeze. The sound of temple bells fills the air and the view overlooking the city makes a photo opportunity, particularly at sunset.

Breakfast at Hotel, Tie Dye workshop and natural dye demonstration by Patricia Cheesman Visit timing 3 hours Program as follows: Starting with a quick introduction to natural dyes and a walk around the natural dye garden (15 min) then down to the verandah for the tie dye work shop. (45min) Coffee and tea will be set up to be accessed at leisure. Dying the tied pieces. (30min) Introduction to Ikat while un-tieing finished work (15min) The sessions may go for longer if customers are interested. The remaining time is left for the shop where there is a large variety of high quality textiles and garments of western sizes for sale.
