Travel to Kanchanaburi for lunch at a local restaurant. Visit the Thailand-Burma Railway Centre, where interactive exhibits, short films and clear descriptions provide the context of the Japanese aggression in Southeast Asia, detail their plans for the railway and describe the horrors faced by those prisoners who worked and died constructing it. Stop at the Don Rak war cemetery and memorial site, the graveyard fitting memorial to the thousands of Prisoners who died from exhaustion, malnutrition or deadly disease during the construction of the railway.  Continue to the Bridge over the River Kwai that has gained International fame from the film version of the novel.
